Piglet Hat

For this Piglet inspired hat, I used single crochet in multiples of six. With an I hook I went out to 54 stitches.

The light pink yarn is a medium light weight softer yarn. This one was from my stash and the label was gone.

The darker pink is red heart soft.

The ears for this hat came from Cupcake Cuties Shop on etsy. I cannot figure out how to link it. I changed them a little bit too.

Piglet turned out adorable!

Winnie the Pooh Newborn Hat

For this hat I used gold and red red heart yarn. I used a size G hook, but wished I had used H. The single crochet stitches are so tight. I did multiples of six for increasing and went to 54 stitches around.

I did the ears a little different too. I do not like ears that are round. I find them difficult to see on and they never stay up. For these ears I used hdc. Here is what I did.

Ch3, join to form a ring.
Ch 1. Hdc 6 into ring. Sl st to join
2hdc in each st around
Instead of joining ch 2, sl st into ring, ch 2 sl st to first of 12 st.

It made more of a half circle and it was easier to see the ears on.

This hat is 5.5 inches from top to bottom.

Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus Taggie Blanket

This might just be my favorite of all the taggie blankets I have made. I got this fabric as soon as it was released, but I didn't know what to do with it.

One of my librarian colleagues recently had a baby. She loves Mo Willems and has taken a stuffed Pigeon all over the world.

This blankie combines two of my favorite things - children's literature and sewing!

There were a few challenges: the pre-quilted fabric was tough to sew through, but I expected that.

Sewing the tags on the curves was tricky too. Some of them ended up at a different angle than I would have preferred.

The quilting stitch I used around the edge was perfect. It was very forgiving around the curves and match the Illustration style of the Pigeon.

Overall I am very pleased with this Pigeon taggie blanket and I hope baby H will be too!
