My second daughter was born in May. I made a ton of things to prepare for her arrival. Nothing really fit right. The hats were either too big, too small. or the color was off.
The one thing that turned out great was this pixie bonnet. I used this pattern from PoshPatterns.
During the last week of my pregnancy, I finally finished this quilt for the baby's crib. I used fabric designed by Tamara Kate, and produced by Michael Miller Fabrics. When I made a quilt for my older daughter I saw the blue fabric with girls reading in trees printed on it. I loved it but it did not work well for her quilt. I decided to use it for the baby's quilt, along with the purple Princess and the Pea fabric. It turned out so adorable, and its a perfect play mat for both of them to play on. You can see other projects and fabric in this line here.
This is the front.
This is the back. The pink and purple circles I found at Hobby Lobby after searching for a flannel that would complement and match the front. I bought all they had left, and because the quilt is kind of a strange size, I did not have quite enough for the back. I had the blue minky at home already, so I used that.
However, my FAVORITE project that I made for Molly is this rainbow stripey crocheted blanket. I followed this pattern from Not Your Average Crochet. It was so much fun, and a labor of love. I plan to use it for the background for all of her monthly pictures. So far they are turning out great.
